For speed, I like Datek. Also for shorting -- only twice, they didn't have the shares -- WEBM and ONXX - when I was a little slow with the trigger finger.

Paul, Ameritrade is very quick with exception of the first 15 minutes after the open which sometimes can be slow.

Thank you all for sharing your trading experiences. This is exactly what this thread is for, not just stock picks. A place where we can learn from each other, and when another ADSP happens, lend each other an ear.

One thing I'd like to add. If one has a streak of success and the account value goes up quickly in a short time. Sometimes one can feel like nothing can go wrong and get careless, in the end give back the profits quickly. One way to prevent it from happening is to withdraw some of the profits immediately, put them in a bank money market account, far away from brokerage accounts. Pretend the profits never came in the first place. Save the new found money for something special like a home downpayment, a nice vacation etc.., and don't dip back into it. It's my wife's idea and I thought it was a great one.

Regards,

Tom
