That part (the nondisclosure bit) does seem a bit goofy. I hope we hear Sun's perspective soon.

I agree. These things happen to every company in this industry. If Sun deals with this problem in a way that makes the customers happy, it should be a non-issue.

Regardless of the quality of journalism in the CW article, which I'm sure sucks, if there's any truth to that allegation it makes Sun management look like idiots.


It does make them look incredibly dumb, especially if they've known about the problem for that long. Hopefully, Sun can correct the problem quickly, that would be the right thing to do. Otherwise, some relationships could be strained. If this has been going on for months, it's pretty clear that it did not affect Sun's sales. Although, at this point it's hard to say if any of the new purchasers of Sun hardware were even aware of a problem that had/had not been pinpointed.

I'll agree with you if Sun can solve this problem quickly, it should have a non-impact on future sales.
