I've stated on this thread my in-the-field observations of crash prone Sun servers. I always thought it was because Solaris was such a fragile OS, but I guess you know more than me.

hahahahahah. Have you ever touched a Solaris machine? And which fields were you in, fields of dreams? And if Solaris is fragile, what adjective could we possibly apply to Windows?

The percipience of your commentary puts you way out there in the list of luminaries (twister, Dale to name but two others) who have told us over and again how SUNW is going to crater, when it just keeps getting stronger. Carry on carping, and missing the best investment opportunities, its OK with me.

Chic, >I didn't see anything in that article about IBM bailing them out, but that would just prove once again that IBM management has their head up their arse.

That's the new IBM (as of about 8 years ago). Their technology division will sell anything to anybody, for the right price. Example, they sell S390 CPU chipsets, the whole enchilada to Hitachi, one of their only S390 competitors. Of course, Sun is a much more formidable competitor than Hitachi.

I wonder who makes the Sun ECC SRAMS for them.
