What are you doing up at this terrible hour? Do you have insomnia? You probably got yourself all worked up listening to jazz and couldn't sleep. The most scandalous part of that painting is that only the women took their clothes off. The men still have on their neckties and shoes, for heaven's sake! ANd that one guy has on a very peculiar French hat. What do you suppose they are doing? Do you think the women lost in a very one-sided game of strip poker? Hmm- that one man is weakly holding his hand up. Maybe they are artists and the women are their models and they're just taking a break for a little snack and he's practicing that perspective thing artists do with their thumbs. Maybe they are guests at a nudist colony and just haven't quite relaxed yet? That same guy is holding a little stick. HAs he been threatening those poor women? "Take off all your clothes or I will beat you with my little stick!" OK_ I give up. What's the story? Oh! I just noticed it's at the Musée D'Orsay! We are hoping to have an extra day in Paris-- maybe I can check it out in detail- look for clues. Some of the group wants to go there; others are hoping for enough time to get to Giverny. I am really very curious now, having worked myself up over it. There's not much to get excited over at 5 in the morning here.
