Arcane, is there a stock you do not follow? <s>

Well, one that I don't follow is the much hyped penny stock which actually fulfilled the promise that its technology would make it the "next Microsoft"- Not because of lack of interest, but because I don't know of any. Has any of these microcaps promising to utilize and/or sell unbelievable technology ever fulfill its promise over the long term? Specifically can one identify a former penny stock where:

1. The technology has been widely accepted by other companies and/or used with great success by the originating former penny stock thus leading to great long term fundamentals for the given former penny stock, and

2. A long term investor who got in during the penny stock days would have seen enormous capital appreciation (similar to Microsoft over its first years as a public company) over the period of three or more years (as opposed to short term pump and dump trading profits)?

While I suspect there may be a few former microcap companies which meet the first criteria, I believe there are relatively few, if any, that also satisfy the second one given the usual dilution of investment that occurs over time in these usually under capitalized and frequently incompetently (or dishonestly) managed microcap companies.
