Have you ever read "My Name is Asher Lev", by Chaim Potok? In it, a young Hasid with a flair for drawing determines to become an artist, and just barely obtains permission. His teacher makes him do renderings of nudes, and there is an interesting discussion of the discipline necessary to maintain focus at close quarters with a naked model. It is especially heightened for a religious person. Which is to say that not all artists are perverts, but they frequently flirt with perversion.
