Sounds reasonable. It's hard to always know one's own mind, let alone the mind of others. I think we know caring when we see it given to us. We know when we give kindness but that grades into duty doesn't it? When does our wanting to help (internally mounted efforts) grade into thinking we should help (externally motivation)? I don't always know. So is better to want it because I think it good? Or is it better to want it because I should? It's such a slippery slope that it's probably best to do it. Whether you want, should or can, probably doesn't matter much nearly so much as the trying.
