Re: Someday i won't have to pay 400 dollars (a month)for this DAMN ISDN

Man, you are getting robbed!!

I pay $40 a month for a cable connection. I know this won't last though. 6 hours to install the sucker, the first one broke after a few months and I'm on to number 2. Cable modem and 6 hours of installation is free of course. Add up these 3 costs and they won't make any money off of me for about 2 years. This doesn't even take into account the bandwidth I use and how much that costs.

The whole business model is F****d if you ask me. Amazon, NetZero, and all that other crap needs to die fast. You can't sell product at a loss and make it up on volume. I'm surprised this crap has been allowed to go on so long. Once the business model gets straightened out, the real fun can begin. These guys like NetZero are screwing it up for everyone else.

As has always been the case the people currently benefiting from providing the last new thing have a strong vested interest in not changing quickly.

Eating your young is understood in theory but seldom practiced.

New things will keep coming from new companies. Unfortunately the chances of them being competitive in 5 or 10 years is slim to none.

There is a small problem when companies derive more cash from their stock offering than they will ever derive from their sales.

It also seems that every small efficient company has the same problems that every big company has once the get big.

Growth and profits seldom go hand in hand. So far it doesn't seem to bother anyone.

$400 for ISDN seems high. We were able to get a T1 frame relay for $465 a month (Fibre to the door.) Someday someone will provide and charge for bandwidth on demand, don't know that T will be the one.
