A.

Great story. I agree that some institutions may want to keep their staff from wandering off the pathway. Too bad, huh?

RE: MY BROKER....I have enjoyed educating my brother-in-law who is a broker at Pru Sec. He didn't know much about fiber optics, G Gilder and G&K investing until he started looking at some of my trades. Guess what inquiring minds want to know? I have to hand it to him, he is taking this stuff more seriously and (no big surprise) he's become the local office expert in technology.

BTW: I have to relate a remark made by one of my Bro in laws co-workers yesterday. I called to talk with a broker to take care of a RMBS trade (sold naked puts & closed out an NTAP put way out of the money). He asked me, "What is NTAP?" Oh, I replied, just a $30 billion tech company called Network Appliance. <ggg> He whistled, asked what they did and said he'd never heard of them. He did take notice when I said I had just pocketed a gain of 8,000.

Take care and enjoy the weekend.

I used to think so too until last April. The margin capacity held against naked puts can triple or quadruple overnight or more if the NAZ suddenly tanks. Suddenly you can be in a margin call and no way to manuever out of it except to sell stocks. It has to be done very judiciously.
