Yes ... 'it is a good day to die', and then he figures out that it was a good day to live as well ... a lesson there for the wsp faithful, eh. Chief Seattle never learned english, he would have delivered any speech in his language or in chinook ... there are a number of versions of it, several purported to be 'authentic' ... lots on the web about this ... the same thoughts were and are still being expressed by others ... i was sent this the other day - indians.org ... click on 'Chief Seattle', you get english The indian method of settling land tenure disputes by splitting the other guy's skull with an axe has degenerated into a system of hordes of bureaucrats and hundred dollar an hour consultants and lawyers in most of the Americas but not all ... one week ago today there was an election in our state of Chiapas, the PRI was finally booted out and now the change will happen there ... progress, eh ... got to get that lawyer ticket.
