Actually both growth and value have recently done well. Keep in mind that the NYSE is the only major index that has set NEW HIGHs, and there were plenty of value stocks in the NYSE.

What Im noticing is that the HiFLYER/MANIC/GROWTH group is doing well but has narrowed, since many HiTECHs are still in the gutter. Instead of running up all the HiFLYERs again the market has moved more funds to the value plays than in the past which has pushed the NYSE to NEW HIGHs.

This is actually better for the market than to just run all the MANIC stocks up again. So to say GROWTH is doing better than VALUE as a group may be correct to a certain degree but incomplete, since there are plenty of growth stocks in the gutter while there are still many which have moved up nicely from the recent selloff like the biotechs.
