I don't think you've read Carl's "rumor" properly. He was saying that there was a rumor out that the 840 would have a MTH that supported SDRAM. This had nothing to do with the 820. The 840 has been a very successful chipset (75% of all workstations use RDRAM and I would guess that 98+% are built on the 840, not the 820) and to attempt to scare people by saying that it would now support SDRAM is a serious offense.
