Lewinsky-Dan - Still Blowing HARD !

You must have sore knees by now !

Intel's stock - tell me how it's doing, BlowHardBoy !

Re: "Re: WHy is IBM and Dell selling 1 GHz and 1.13 GHz Pentium III PCs - and Gateway selling 1 GHz Pentium IIIs.
The 1.13 is barely sampling, and must be cooled to 62C to operate. The 1.0 must be cooled to 10C below other P3s - and 20C below any Athlon, or it can't be relied upon.

I'm not sure whether 866MHZ or 933MHZ is the actual top for P3 - I wouldn't spec a P3 system over 866 for anything but video games, Dell will ship a "business" system as high as 933, IBM, Compaq, etc. limit it to 866.

Whether you call it 866 or 933, the latest P3 stepping didn't make it to 1GHZ.

Bump up the FSB on a 1GHZ Tbird and most run at 1.15 GHZ easily. You can't do that on a 1GHZ P3 - there is no margin in those systems.

"Hitting a wall" isn't a technical term, it's a conclusion. My conclusion is that Intel effectively topped at 933. I've stated why I came to that conclusion.

Your name calling indicates that can't come up with an argument against the message, all you can do is complain about the messenger.

If Intel is perceived to be losing the leadership of its core markets, wouldn't a P/E of about 15 be expected? With annual earnings from operations about $1.00 per share and falling, I'd be looking for a stock price around $15.

What do you think? Still too high given the anemic growth rate?"

Dan it's apparrent at this point that no matter what, you will insist that there aren't any GHz CuMines. You could have one embedded in your forehead and you's insist it wasn't there.

Re: "Bump up the FSB on a 1GHZ Tbird and most run at 1.15 GHZ easily. You can't do that on a 1GHZ P3 - there is no margin in those systems"

Dan, all processors have a built in guardband for the degrading effect of hot electrons. All processors run faster than their rating. They have to. BTW, how do you know there isn't any margin on 1GHz CuMines when you already said there aren't any?

What specific anaylsts believe Intel is losing leadership of its core market ? Niles is very bullish on the company.
Other analysts followed and raised their estimates.
