<Watson Interview on RobTV Summary

Watson's interview on RobTV was excellent this morning. He was very upbeat and enthusiastic about the progress that Plaintree had made since his last appearance on RobTV. You could tell by the way he was answering questions that they are definitely in full business development mode now. Last time he was on they were still in reorganization mode and what really stood out in this interview is that they are now in execution mode. They have turned things around and there is nothing hanging over their head to distract them from achieving their targets. They have great technology, highly skilled staff, lots of money to execute and a new found enthusiasm which goes a long way. You could tell that Watson is very motivated and has something to prove.

These are the key points from the interview..........

RobTv : What's driving recent gains
Watson: Last visit they were in restructuring mode. In past 6 months have been visiting customers and competition and they have had chance to digest info and reformulate their Business Plan. Last week was first time the investment community has had a chance to hear new BP and they must have liked what they saw and heard.
PJD Comment: This is a great sign to see such positive results after an analyst tour. Shows confidence in Business Plan and strategies. Definitely explains institutional buying, high volume and interest. This will only continue.

RobTv: Why the recent focus from Network Switch to Fiberless Optical products
Watson: Traditionally Plaintree know as one of best, most reliable network switch maker and designer in the world. Originally wanted to compliment the line with Fiberless technology so they would have a total solution when sales reps talked to customers about switches. Realized in last 6 months that Fiberless Optical product line is going to be incredibly powerful as the market has such huge potential.
PJD Comment: Multiple revenue streams me higher revenues and profits. I also like the fact that Watson was able to quickly identify an opportunity, make necessary strategic moves (new staff, adjust BP, etc.) and start executing in a timely manner.

RobTV: Talk about new deals/contracts
Watson: There has been a lot of excitement and interest in our technology. They have had discussions with many customers. 5 of the biggest names in the GSM/ISP sector are flying in from all over the world to see Plaintree.
PJD Comment: Very diplomatic response. Sounds like there is something big underlying and when it comes out it will be a huge boost for share price. Probably the main factor behind the latest pop. Watson has been discussing new BP with analyst and they get more detail like Sales/Revenue projections and targets. I'm sure the new info factors in these new contracts in some way.

RobTV: How does LAN set itself apart from the competition in fiberless optical .
Watson: Big players, Nortel/Lucent are going after different market. They are looking to set up infrastructure across top of a city. LASN is competing with them as they are focusing on GSM and ISP markets looking to provide customers with the last mile solution. They looked at the competition and there are about 15 small, cottage industry type companies looking to sell 5 to 6 gig units. LAN is one of the few that has the background and technology compared to these players to manufacture thousands of units a year which sets them apart from competition.
PJD Comment: They are very focused on a specific niche and are extremely well positioned to be the leader in these niches. This bodes well for future sales and revenues and I wouldn't be suprised if once they get their numbers up they become a takeover candidate. It is the norm these days for larger companies to scoop up the top players in a niche to fill a void in their strategy. Don't forget that Nortel still owns 6% of Plaintree.

RobTV: What are your comments on future profitability
Watson: They have major new products coming out before X-Mas. Beta products will be shipped to customers for testing. This should help to address that issue.
PJD Comment: Another very diplomatic answer but hints at profitable quarters based on projections. As well, future new product announcements will help to continue driving the share price. This stock is very news sensitive and the more news to come out the better. I believe that with the size of the new deals on the table and the control over expenses will result in increasingly profitable quarters.

RobTV: Comment on the new staff you have hired from Nortel, Alcatel, JDU etc.
Watson: It has been incredible. He has been traveling the world talking to customers and competitors about products, strategy and new Business Plan. Every time he returns he is getting calls from people saying they like what heard and want to know if there is any openings for them. That is how they were able to get the new staff.
PJD Comment: Another incredible endorsement of LAN's potential particularly knowing how competitive the job market is. The fact that they are approaching Plaintree is an extremely positive sign.

RobTv: How about NADQ listing.
Watson: Currently on OTCBB and definitely sees them back on regular board within months rather than years.
PJD Comment: This is outstanding. Not only will it be another reason for a news release but this will definitely drive the price up as it gets more exposure and credibility in us markets
