Didn't compaq say demand for windows2000 is so hot that it can't ship enough systems as it is running not not enough components in inventory? Anyone know if compaq has remedied this situation. Exactly what components are in short supply?

For Gore no need to be anti-msft when he can attack oil, tobacco, tires, and autos for real and/or imagined misdeeds. I think the appeals court or supreme court will throw the decision out based as much on current popular sentiment as the law.
The arrogance of Bill Gates made MSFT appear to be monsters to JUstice but now they are viewed as more benign by the courts when you have those evil industries to contend with.
**OT** JNJ voluntarily pulled tylenol off the shelves during the the tampering scare, created tamper proof containers and although losing money in the short run, kept faith with the American people. We know what tobacco did. We know what oil does whenever the feel they can get away with it. Now Firestone appears to have dragged its feet(tires) in the current situation.
All MSFT did was to play the game to win like Jeff on the Survivors. Should we go after his million. I say no--he deserved his victory even though he might not have been the best on the island. In the US, government should be neutral, unless and until consumers are injured especially in terms of price. Remember Betamax. MSFT has already been penalized enough by having its attention diverted from its business while undergoing a severe haircut in share price. Time for all to get back to work. Justice beat MSFT. MSFT will be careful to be a good citizen going forward. No need for more pain.
