LBRT or BEAS? LBRT or BEAS? Reminds of the days when I was the handicapper at a harness race track. It blew me away when owners and drivers approached me early in the day and asked me what I thought about their chances in the races they were running. Instead of LBRT or BEAS it was "You like the 4 horse or the 6? Often I'd say, scratching my head.."Gee, I like both the 4 horse and the 6." Come post time when I'd occasionally place a wager it'd be..."the 4 or the 6?, the 4 or the six? Sometimes I'd go with an overlay...say the 4 which "should have gone off at 2 to 1 but was listed on the tote at 7-2, being overlooked by the betting public (comparable in many ways to the investing public); sometimes, if the odds were favorable I'd go with both the 4 and the 6....reducing profits, but increasing the probability of securing a "successful" event. The problem you faced...buy the BEAS or buy the LBRT is one we all face, every day...and a problem not easily solved. A couple of thoughts. You could buy 'em both, though in fewer shares; you could buy one and the other via in-the-money calls....the problem intensifies when you're faced with making a choice among eight stocks you like. If you come up with a solution...lemme know. (Lee)
