that's what i heard. they wouldn't do that via the COMEX of course, but in an otc transaction involving a lease.

if it is true, i have already worked out they would be bankrupt at $50/oz.

i think silver's poised for a surprise comeback....it's the only commodity to have gone down in price in the face of a decade long supply/demand deficit. however, the stockpiles that were feeding the market are running down to almost zero too. once that happens, what then?
