The low volume as you know is seasonal. However the markets have continued to climb higher. NDX is up nearly 11% in two weeks. My guess is that the market made this move because there are very few sellers. We do have a lack of buyers too but enough of them to keep moving higher. This is clear from the huge shrinkage of new lows while the new highs have climbed slowly. When the volume returns, I suspect a lot of that will be on the buy side and we will rocket higher. Of course there will be oversold conditions along the way and we will correct that and move on. I wouldnt be surprised to see new highs in NDX before the year is out.
