Hi richard surckla; Re "Nice pictures." Yeah, they are nice clear pictures of a Camino based motherboard.

One of those nice pictures is a close up of the region surrounding the Camino chip:

The RIMM sockets are on the left. (There are only two of them.) The big chip in the center is the North Bridge, or Camino chip.

And the fat traces connecting the RIMM to the North Bridge? That's the RDRAM channel. Note how much wider the lines are than the lines that connect the chip to the PCI slot or CPU. The picture illustrates precisely why it is that RDRAM fails to provide more signals per inch of PCB width. This is a big contributing factor to why DDR is such a big hit.
