I think you're right about the suicidal rite of passage for teen burgers. Many, anyway. Seen em personally, myself. Car loads.

Also seen the real ones, always, always, since from when I was a teen.

It's the surprises that piss me off. Frustrate me. The ones who are burning up and we don't know. Shit that makes me upset.

I think- having gone through that- that it is hormones and environment (both school and home environment).

Hormones can be regulated in teens- and I will regulate them in mine if they have the mood swings I had. I see no reason to go through that if you don't have to. And then it helps to be busy and surrounded by people who love you and care about you and would do just about anything for you, but do not wish to smother you. I was not in that kind of environment. I am a firm believer that being busy and feeling useful is one of the pillars of mental health (not that that is an original belief- I just happen to subscribe to it too).
