Re: Did you expect Intel to go up 2 1/2 to a new record high (intraday)on a major launch day by AMD?

Frank,

I don't think 1.1 Ghz is a major launch. I don't think Intel's or AMD's move has anything to do with this launch.

I think what is major that no one has realized yet is there are obviously severe problems with Intel's 1.13 Ghz chips. Given the HUGE amount of support AMD is seeing in this launch, it's pretty clear there's only one place to go for high speed chips. AMD has already stated there will be higher speed parts every 5 to 6 weeks. AMD is going to OWN the high end all of Q4. That's significant, now if one of these ANALysts can just figure that out.

What's your estimates for how much stock Intel will have to sell over guidance to make Q4 earnings?

Frank: If the stories about major problems with the 1.13
P III are true.. then I dont think even Intel will be immune to a stock drop of some margin.
