When you cross a primate with semiconductors you get one seasonal, cyclic, Silverback.

Now knowing that the cycle was here and the season was almost upon us I sold INTC in October for 2 wannabe gorilla's (no tornado for WIND or GMST yet).

Two points come to mind:

1. Intc is obviously extending itself well beyond PC's, and PC chips/components. I would think that as INTC penetrates handsets, networking equipment, servers, etc., its historic cyclicity will moderate.

2. Not having studied cyclicity very much, I would have expected that the classic move would have been to have held onto Intc thru Oct - Jan, when it reports sales thru the BIG Q4 selling season. Selling in October doesn't make immediate sense to me, although I am sure you will be able to fill me in. As an INTC shareholder since '97, it seems to me that INTC usually appreciates quite nicely from Oct - Jan. So I am curious why one would choose to sell in October?
