Imo, 20 years from now, wireless connectivity with global access will have obviated the need for Internet Cafes for anything other than social reasons.

I agree. A parallel might be music. I mean, anyone anywhere can afford a cheap personal radio now, and practically anyone in an advanced industrial country can afford a personal musical player of some kind as well. We don't need concerts to hear the music itself anymore, but still choose to go to some anyway for social and/or special acoustical reasons. Wireless net access via PDA should be as ubiquitous as radio well before 20 years are up, no?

PS JDSUers will find this heartening...merger approval expected...

You need to wake up and smell the coffee <gggg>

But seriously, I would be very satisfied if a majority of the people (we are talking about the world now not just US) have 'easy access' to a telephone leave alone internet access.

The gap between the rich and the poor keeps increasing everyday. And the poor tend to have more children making it worse for them to get out of the shackles of poverty. Their main gola in life is find a way to buy the next meal for their family.
