Mav,
So AMD gets another 6 month reprieve and the stock goes down...
I guess we know who's controlling the money.

On the other hand, I think that AMD only gets a 4-6 week reprieve because Intel is really under pressure now to "launch" Willy. The big kahuna is whether they learn from the 1.13 Ghz coppermine and take a step back and make sure it runs before release or their ego makes them rush it out...just for the sake of the Mhz crown...

I'd guess that we see a mid october Willy launch at the latest...maybe earlier...
So, Athlon has about 5-7 weeks of being Mhz champ before Intel PR and the press start hyping the "release" of the 1.4-1.5 Ghz, Wiz-bang, P4....
For right now, the workhorse P3 gets little PR from Intel...it will be like it has the plague.

Jim

Maverick:

Ever get the feeling that a stampede for AMD shares is soon to take place...I'm thinking a close above $36 will signal a fairly rapid ascent to the $45 to $48.50 level with minor consolidations along the way...Once through $48.50 (that was the all-time high prior to this year and occurred when AMD earned an average of $0.08 over 2 successive quarters in 1997)...well, let's get there first...shouldn't have to wait too long...
