Semicong,
RE:"I also heard this week, that in Q2, intel took back 1 percentage point in Overall Desktop PC market share, from AMD. Overall is everything sold, everywhere. Seems the tide is turning.

One other thing...... that's two posts now, where you've actually said nice things about intel. One question......

Who are you, and what have you done with the REAL Jim McMannis"

I decided not to play games with Paul. In reality, I'm an equal opportunity basher.
Yes, I heard that Intel had actually taken back a little share. OTOH, this quarter will be tell tale in that AMD is essentially doubling Athlon production with Dresden etc.
So I would expect to see them start taking share. SO, we will see.

The other problem is the old "just wait until we take some business market"...seems like that has always resulted in just wait until this or that comes out...
Then it never happens...

Jim

Since Athlons and even Durons are bigger then K6's and since AMDs is making more Athlons and Durons and less K6s AMD's chip production increase has been limited. In Q3 and Q4 I would expect AMD to gain market share, but I'm not really sure how much. I don't know how much Intel will increase their production this year.
