Unless you have a fairly nonstandard definition of social spending then during Reagan's 8 years in office social spending greatly increased, this is still true after adjusting for inflation.

I don't think you understand the situation...he was a famous actor, and former gov. of CA....his soirees had to be lavish...think of all the actors and actresses in attendance...they were used to the very best.

I just don't think you recognize a great president/man when you see one.
