Tom, you are absolutely right, a large portion of the short interest might be hedged against the debenture and furthermore, additional shorting by debenture holders will recapture all their capital, get them the interest with no funds at risk, if the stock goes to $50, they could care less, since they would convert at $4.5 and cover with that. Will they, is the real question, it is quite possible that some of the heavy volume (about 20 Mm shares one day) was actually "designed' to let them hedge additional debenmture.

While I am on the side line right now, I am going to watch for strength at the 50% retracement ($6) or above to get back in, since after all, all the above might be just a speculation, and the real reason for the surge is sudden prosperity. (VBG).
