If you had one of these options, which would you choose?

1. No tax cuts, use current surplus to shore up social security

2. Roll social security tax burden into federal income tax and refund surplus to taxpayers as a % of total tax paid including SS (with no modifications to SS ensuring that it will go bust)

3. Keep current social security system as it is and initiate federal tax refund against federal income taxes only (this also means current SS system will go bust).

My pick would be #2. If they don't reform fica then there is no point in refunding any taxes I would say. The young pay more in fica than federal income tax and whats the point of a refund if they are not included? I vote for no tax rebates until some politician deals with these tough issues - I know you understand this, why are you supporting a bogus tax cut against federal income tax when you know in 20 years its going to be chaos with these out of control entitlements?
