Mighty, re: I just hope you can give the same respect you gave to Intel, Nokia or Siemens to Q/Spinco. My money is on Sulpuzio, Schrock & Co. So much, in fact, I can't afford to get blindsided by dubious reasoning along the lines of "only QCOM and NOK can make CDMA chips, NOK's are bad (which they are), ergo SpinCo will dominate the WCDMA baseband market forever and ever, amen." I appreciate you taking the time to look at Siemens a bit. Non engineers like me really appreciate the debates amongst the mightylakers, w molloys, engineers, (and even the Gussies and Darryl Golds) on these threads. As well as the Eric L.'s who have excellent insights to the standards processes. This helps put together an informed mosaic of an incredibly complex landscape. I suppose one could just "ignore" the cheerleading types, but those viewpoints deserve examination also.
