If DT is really overpaying then the market will "adjust" the imbalance by lowering the price of DT paper until it reaches a more reasonable valuation.

Curiously enough - you can't use overpriced stock to buy things at a firm price....we almost always see the acquiring company drop in a stock deal (like TRRA-LCOS).

Is DT a long-term short at this rate or has the damage been done? Look at T and its acquisitions the past few years.
