Vaughn,

I would like to see 3-D seismic tried as a method of mapping the areal extent and thickness of sub horizontal kimberlite sheets like at Snap lake. It would be even more effective if one hole was drilled, allowing for a geophone to be placed at the depth of the kimberlite. Seismic has been used successfully in hard rock terrains in SA for mapping the gold reefs and at Sudbury in nickel exploration. I have heard it works to some degree looking for deep VMS deposits in some of the Quebec and Ontario VMS belts. Why not try it if it may turn out to be a cost effective method of directing an expensive deep drilling program?

regards,
