Kemble, long time no talk to!

I called Dell last week about web hosting. My current ISP got purchased, and service has gone downhill fast. Anyway, I can get a server from Dell that they keep for about $350 per month. All I do is ftp my files just like I do now. They monitor the site every 5 minutes (my current ISP does not monitor). Exodus wants about $3000 for a similar service. The only thing missing in the Dell package is email, which you can't get with a stand-alone server (but can with a shared server). I'll probably keep my ISP's email in the near term, since I need a stand-alone server.

We'll probably go with them. The rep I spoke with said they had sold about 10,000 of these web hosting packages. I can see why. $350 per month is a drop in the bucket, and I will have greater site reliability and control.
