Market Forecast: Very Bullish

The Bear Market is over. That may come as a surprise to Perma Bears who always look for a reason for stocks to not work their way higher, but the Broad Market, as defined by the A/D line entered a Bear Market in April 98 for two years. Recently the NYSE Composite Index has hit New All Time Highs along with the Value Line Averages. Repeat after me and don't allow a Bear to prevent you from making money over the next few months: This is a Bull Market! This is a Bull Market! Don't ever forget that over the next couple of months. Buy Every Pull Back. You won't be sorry.

The Bear market ended with the devastating correction in the Comp in April/May. That correction was not the beginning of a Bear, as Perma Bears think, but the culmination of the Bear. The Strongest Stocks always get hit Last in a Bear Market because they were the Leaders.

The small cap sector has clearly bottomed out- though many have remained quiet. If you hold any of these small cap stocks with strong earnings and good balance sheets, don't give up on them. They will come back and hit new all time highs in 2001. Be patient with them. They are basing here for a nice move up in the fall. They are just exhausted and are still recuperating from the Hell they went through in the spring.

I see a short term top early in September after Labor Day. Buy the mild pullback aggressively. For afterwards, you will see New ALL Time Highs in the Dow and S@P 500. The Comp should have no problem hitting 4500. Expect new all time highs for the Comp in the first half of 2001, if not sooner.

The Window of Opportunity in this Market lies from the Middle of September to the Election. I expect a very strong rally during this time period with an Al Gore Victory.

The Interest rate spread looks bullish to me in the sense that the interest rate spread will show a flattening or dropping of the short-end to catch-down with the long-end, and with business picking-up (it is), then you'll have lower rates combined with higher earnings, which is Very Bullish.

I have a Green Light on the US Equity Market here. But I think it is important to be diversified here across many sectors. And I forgot to say that the Dow Jones Utilities has recently hit new highs. That is one of the best forecasters for new all time highs in all the major indices(including the Russell 2000) within the next 6 months. I wish I could say some nice things on behalf of Gold. But I can't. Actually, I'm not even sure what value Gold has in this very bullish investment climate. So, I'll leave that to others who understand Gold more than I, like Hutch, who has a very profound understanding of the Gold Market. I just don't see the reserve currency of the World, the US Dollar, declining from these levels over the next couple of months.
