JGoren,

I don't believe the radiation scare has any merit, but if it is to be a death knell it will be for GPRS. The difference in transmit power of GPRS compared to 1X for similar data rates is huge. I think the death knell will be battery life not brain cancer.

Gilder has a point in power consumption of CDMA
chips, but GSM has had power control (for the antenna
as well as the chips) from the very start.
