I think that Sulpulzio and gang will move quickly to increase shareholder value for three reasons: (1) prove ability to stand on their own; (2) prove up the company so it can be valued more easily; and (3) prevent quick takeover cheap. Nothing is wrong with so-called "prohibitive" price? With a current market cap of $500 billion wouldn't be prohibited; it could easily afford spinco at 4 to 5 times its present value (assuming $20 bill). TXN might be priced out of the market, however, since its current market cap is $114 billion. Besides, the corporate culture of TXN might not be a good fit, anyway.
