Bank America analyst said Intels business is very strong going in to Q1 2001 and this quality problem was predictable because they are pushing the speed limit. Also said it should have minimal to no affect on earnings but it does give some credibility to AMD.

Looks like you've answered your own question about the effect of this latest goof. Very small volume at 1.13 (hopefully coming up to decent volume at 1.0) and the lion's share of microprocessors being shipped are PIIIs from 933 on down plus (don't forget) Celerons.

Egg on the face is the worst part, and, unnecessary, methinks, because Intel was sold out anyway in parts they can make all day.
