Mary - SUNW has never been big in Web servers - that market is about equally shared by Linux and NT. Web servers don't require any of the high end system characteristics that differentiate SUNW, and the cheapest hardware that does the job is what sells. There is good money in web servers but that is the lowest value segment of the internet infrastructure.

BTW, Netcraft can be very deceptive - it only reports the "first point of contact". The applications those web servers present, and the data they display, is not being hosted on Linux.

I still do some work in that space (less every day <GG>!) and I see SUNW's momentum growing, not decreasing, in the high value back end systems. SUNW's recent quarterly results reflect that trend.
