In the past, the Congress and press generally had the good taste to stay out of the President's sex life, even though they knew exactly what was going on.

That may have been how it was in the past but that's not how it works not.....Clinton knew that....he already had had problems in Arkansas that were made somewhat public.

The Republicans were so angry in 1992 at losing the presidency, that they took it on themselves to do everything possible (legal and illegal) to undermine Clinton. Given the dozens of serious offenses the Republicans have accused Clinton of, and the hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars they have spent trying to destroy him, the best they could come up with was a cigar.

That's right....and the pressures of the Russian economy clouded Putin's judgement re some guys on a sub. I am sorry but blaming the Republicans for Clinton's missteps is like that guy who shot a councilman in SF and blamed it on hostess twinkies.

Besides Clinton was acting out well before he got to the White House.

It is a testament to Clinton's character that he did an incredible job in the face of such reckless political adventurism.

I would have preferred he had had a real affair as opposed to this fulfillment of a sexual fantasy. The man is pretty immature, very ego-centric and looks to have some psychological problems. I feel sorry for he and his family....they have been badly embarrassed. Nonetheless I would prefer he did wield so much power.

Its a little difficult for the press to stay out of it when the president is getting sued for harassment as in the Paula Jones case. That was news and it was reported as such by the press. I can't imagine any celebrity who wouldn't have been in the news after pulling a stunt (having a state trooper bring up secretaries so he could ask for a blow job.) like that. What's really idiotic is Bill had a chance to settle the Paula Jones case early and quietly, with sealed records and all, but turned down a half million dollar settlement against advice of counsel.

<<<<<It is a testament to Clinton's character that he did an incredible job in the face of such reckless political adventurism.<<<

What incredible job. Your buddy Alan Greenspan has been running the economy. Bill has been nothing more than a lame duck president for the last four yrs. In fact, name me one major piece of legislation (other than routine budget
legislation) or even one major presidential initiative Bill has passed the last four yrs. Going to war in Bosnia isn't my idea of major initiative. I am talking about legislation to help the poor,(oops, he kicked thousands off of welfare), advanced race relations,(oops, Bill dismantled quotas), helped the working class, (oops, he took bribes from china, and allowed importation of billions of dollars of slave labor products undermining the unions who supported him), helped the family, (oops, he made a mockery of loyalty and trust in a marriage), passed legislation to stop sexual harassment in the workplace, (oops, Bill was the poster child for a leech.), banned submachine guns,(oops, he took a bribe(Bills friends call it a political donation) from chinese military, and let them sell imported guns from a warehouse in LA.),promoted U.S. national interests,(oops, took a bribe from taiwanese, let drug runners and arms dealers into White House parties and let Hughes sell classified missile technology, in order to get bribes) and preserved the dignity of the White House, (oops, he rented out the white house bedrooms and turned it into a expensive Motel Six.), upheld the law, (oops, he lied in court, and now even the bar association wants to kick him out for being a disgrace). Other than that he did a fine job.

You seem like an intelligent guy...how is it you fall for Hillarys "conspiracy theory" baloney?

Hundreds of millions? You must be talking about Clintons 60 odd foreign junkets at taxpayer expense?
