This is my best guess.

Rambus is licensing DRDRAM for about 1-2%.

Rambus is trying to license DDR for a higher amount, even though it owns less of a percentage of the total architecture.

This violates antitrust laws.

For example, if they own 100% of DRDRAM and license at 2% and they own 20% of DDR, they should license at .4%.

Of course this is a simplified example, but you get the point of where my best guess of where Micron is coming from.
