Do you need me to show you the 1973-1984 Intel vs. AMD chart? The Intel:AMD ratio was approaching 2:1 in the early 80s-- there were no horror stories, at least from the perspective of AMD's stock performance during the period. This is especially true against the backdrop of the 1973 to 1982 inflation-adjusted bear market.
