GV, >The PC world by comparison is a cash cow, nothing more.

How about the server world? I wonder how soon Intel could increase Xeon volumes, especially the 700 MHz, big cache ones. Xeons are a critical bridge to the next generations, like the Fosters and the Itaniums. AFAIK, Xeons have been reliable, no hangs, glitches or recalls.

Back to what's critical, all the microprocessor parts are, and everything else. Just that PC, WS and server chips are what Intel is known for. I would hope, at this juncture, Intel would get more conservative re product releases, and design verification test the heck out of them. Get behind in the GHz race for a while, they're sold out of the ones they can make reliably anyway.
