Micron has shown very little interest in the DRDRAM market, so being locked out of it would hardly be a tragedy for them. Fast growing? Even Samsung says otherwise, in case you didn't notice yesterday's other news.

On the other stuff, we'll see. I would advise against taking the random Yahoo legal experts that get quoted as authorities here too seriously, though.

Cheers, Dan.

OK, so MU filed suit... what's going to happen next?

Years in the court?

Probably not that long.

Others filing suit?

Possibly but Rambus will be filing too.

Some paying royalties.

So far - Hitachi, Toshiba & Oki Electric.

Will MU be at the risk of putting customers in an
uncomfortable position and lose market share?

Probably.

Will MU be losing an early-entry opportunity in the
fast-growing RDRAM market?

Yes.

Will Samsung definitely become the dominant memory
manufacturer?

Likely.

Is MU locked out from the RDRAM market as long as the
suit continues?

Not at all.
