Perfect summary. As stated more eloquently by others, definition of need changes with respect to price.

Does anybody know what the markup is for the G* car kit? Can't help but wonder just how much does it cost to manufacture something consisting of an antenna, cable, plastic cradle, and probably 1 or 2 printed circuit boards with associated electronics, speakers and microphone.
