Intel Sues Broadcom

According to one story, Intel "is challanging almost every aspect of Broadcom's technology."
----------------------------
Intel (INTC:Nasdaq - news) filed a federal lawsuit against Broadcom (BRCM: - news) Wednesday, charging the company with violating five Intel patents.

The news didn't have much effect on Intel. But word of the suit hit Broadcom with a vengeance around 2:30 p.m. EDT. Volume surged and the stock plummeted $15. Broadcom rebounded a bit, only to be sold off again on the CNBC-echo effect.

Broadcom, which had traded as high as $257 early in the session, finished down 5.4%, or $13.50, at $238.44. Intel fell 56 cents to $73.50.
