It wasn't Tate that Appleton nearly took out in a steroid rage, it was the CFO Harmon. Party was almost two years ago at Dan Niles' house. And yes to your last question, although you have cause and effect switched. MU doesn't like rdram getting shoved down their throats and paying royalties. That is why Appleton nearly started throwing punches. Plenty of bad blood.

So, now you see why getting put on notice about patent infringement over other ram isn't going to go down easily with MU. This will be a real junk yard dog fight. -ng-

Tench,

Whoa, that's news to me. What happened at this party?

It was in Portola Valley or Woodside or Ladera, I believe -- not sure whose home. Apparently there was some yelling between the two, mostly on Appleton's part, from what I remember hearing.

Unfortunately, there's no easy way to search the SI archives. It's back there somewhere on this thread. I couldn't find anything in my regular news archives.

Is this one big reason why Micron is a leader in the anti-Rambus coalition?

Or maybe the yelling happened because Micron is the leader in the anti-Rambus coalition. <G>
