The voucher system is nothing more than a slick move by the Republicans to try to capture the Roman Catholic vote.

Actually, a voucher system would only have limited support among the upper-middle class because the reason people move to the 'burbs in the first place is to escape inner-city problems. And Lord knows if you just bought a $250,000 house in the burbs you don't want inner-city kids, regardless of race or smarts or desire, infiltrating your suburban school district.

One could even argue that a well-run voucher system would be akin to busing!!

My daughter recently graduated from college and I asked her what she thought of the GOP voucher system.
She said she had problems with it because it does not address the basic issue: the need to improve public education.

Just one person's opinion.
