<.the problem is that a faceless bureaucracy seldom knows what's 'right'. otoh, children have to be protected from abuse.... > Exactly... horrific things DO happen, but the faceless machine grinds up everything in it's path without regard to merit. There are two things that happen getting the child back into the home... 1.) everythings pretty decent and you never here anything again... and no one 'up the ladder' says boo. 2.) The child gets hurt [or worse] and all hell breaks lose on the head of the person who put him/her there. It's loose/loose system, it's power should be removed... they would have enough problems dealing with children of parents who DON'T want them, if people fight for their children you must make the basic assumption [as any decent psychologist would do] that they belong there IMO. Chicago should change the name of the football team to 'Machines' IMO... fits all that bureacracy downtown, what a mess. DAK
