I think most of the credit that goes to any government or quasi-government body would go to the fed. I would give Clinton some credit for not doing anything to mess it up, but at least part of that is not for lack of trying. If Clinton had nationalized health care it would IMO have noticably harmed the economy.

What I said was that some credit can be given to the Clinton administration. And I also said that what is more important is that they took advantage of the opportunities that nearly 9 years of expansion afforded us.

Crime is at its lowest levels in 20 years.....the reduction in urban crime has astounded most law officials in this country...again Clinton probably can not take full credit but certainly his administration is instrumental. Welfare rolls are the lowest in many years...in some states almost non-existent.

This is mostly due to local police efforts and the efforts of state and local politicans. Most particuarly New York, which is large enough and reduced crime enough to have an impact on the statistics for the whole country. Law enforcement and crime prevention for the most part is and should be handled at a local and state level. If you claim that Clinton's handling of the economy reduced crime then you are just double listing his supposed accomplishment of helping the economy to grow strong (I've all ready stated that my opinion that he had little to do with). If other initiatives in your opinion made a bid difference then what initiatives and how did they make a big difference?

Most large cities in this country have seen an unusually large declines in crime...they think that in part it is due to the economic expansion and in part to new crime prevention techniques like community policing. Most of these techniques were started in one city and then the feds encouraged other cities to try them.
