Please share any insights that you have about Nortel developing HDR for CDMA or WCDMA markets. I was under the impression that they were not supporting HDR.

HDR in a WCDMA network is such a no brainer. If GPRS is such an weak solution for GSM networks transitioning to WCDMA, then HDR should be the preferred technology. However, I have never read one article to suggest that HDR is being commercialized for GSM/WCDMA markets.

Nortel would be the ideal equipment vendor to support this transition from GPRS to HDR as the intermediate step to WCDMA. I would also think that once we are beyond this auction in Korea, we are going to see the fireworks go off for WCDMA (in a very good way). the sooner that the kinks get ironed out of WCDMA, the sooner QCOM can start getting paid royalties from the GSM community.
