Oh, Ive broken all ther rules swing trading PAIR then ADCT after the acquisition announcement. Going on margin at times for about 25% of my acct. value (presently ~45% after the big drop. I know..... I'm whining, right? Not really, because I'm talking 15 popper since about May or June of '99. Elation yet, but I hate to see the proverbial house of cards ....(yet or ever). If I didn't owe a probable big tax bill as of my most recent purchase, I wouldn't be quite so ancey. It's fun money, so I wouldn't be committing suicide or anything, but what a ride.... It would just be tragic for it to end on what looked to be such a sour note (as it appeared today when it went into the $34 area). After experiencing the elation of owning a 15 fold increase in account value during that time, to escape with a 9 or 10 fold would somehow translate into depression in a wierd sense. Believe me, the thought of Jay puking on his keyboard was feeling kinda familiar for a while there.... and it may not be over yet. I'm gambling by using the style I'm using, but I wouldn't be doing that without a sense of truly thinking this is a good company. I was gambling on Pairgain without that full sense of belief. Day one, this company has never given me the sense of being mislead like Pairgain came to give me there close to the end. But the stakes here are a lot bigger than they were at that time for me. I'm actually contemplating a little diversification NOW, maybe buy another stock with half the money and try to duplicate the sucess. If I hadn't already felt this kind of pain doing almost the same thing on Iomega back in '96 and '97 it wouldn't represent such a threat to me. I don't learn very easy I guess.
